Flat Stanley

Flat Stanley

This year’s second graders at St. John the Baptist School are participating in creating a Flat Stanley Project.  The purpose is to learn about different geographic areas and communities throughout the country.  Each student mailed a Flat Stanley to a relative or friend who lives or travels in a different area.  We were very excited and surprised to receive Stanley’s who traveled to different towns, states and even different countries!  He returned with souvenirs, photographs, postcards and letters to teach us all about the different adventures he has been on.  This was a fun and creative project to get the class excited about learning!

It is a time devoted to teaching children important lessons to say "NO" to drugs and "YES" to healthy lifestyles including good character traits and positive choices. The Home School Association at St. John the Baptist School made Red Ribbon week a success. Each day during the week of October 24th thru the 28th the students had a different activity. "I CAN, you CAN, We CAN be drug free was a time for students to bring in canned goods to support the Alden-Marilla Food Pantry. We also had wear "Red Day" as well as a silly sock day and a hat day.
